In the middle of the Toronto condo boom, many groups are working on alternatives to build taller buildings and find creative solutions to the city's housing crisis, including a so-called Tiny Toronto.   Founded by Sa'ad Ahmed, the company has been based in the Ryerson Design Manufacturing Zone for the past year, and its team, which includes a group of University of California students in Berkley, is building a prototype of a Square meter that homeowners can use as a workspace or studio.   It is estimated that this project will help homeowners to maximize the use of their spaces.   Eventually, Tiny Toronto plans to create gardens, coaching spaces and even kind of apartments in the backyards of the town houses, but especially in the more suburban areas. Ideal for those who just come to town and need a time to settle down.   The idea is to take advantage of the spaces (backyards and alleys) to help boost the supply of housing in the city.   A report on the feasibility of introducing a local public highway housing initiative could materialize in early 2018 if the City Council approves a move in future meetings.
